The Outcomes After Kidney injury in Surgery (OAKS) study aims to quantify the incidence of AKI in patients undergoing major gastrointestinal and liver surgery and define the morbidity and mortality associated with this. There were 170 centres within the UK and Ireland that participated in OAKS-I, with the data upload period having closed in February 2016. Further details will be released soon, and the intervention is currently being developed for the re-audit (OAKS-II) which will take place in 2017.
